KIRK Computer Systems Ltd. was established in 1981. We are, and have always been, a Northern owned and operated business. We are the largest systems development and consulting firm located in the Northwest Territories. More information about our company can be found in our Corporate Profile.
We have experienced extensive growth since winning a major support contract with the Government of the Northwest Territories in January of 1997. We maintain staffing levels between 10 and 15 employees.
Two of our staff members are Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers. We tend to favor Microsoft products and put a good deal of effort into staying current by taking self-paced, informal classes based on the various Microsoft certification initiatives.
Although our staff has a wealth of combined experience with PC technical support, financial audits, network installations, and web design, our principal revenue generating activity is programming.
Our major client is the Government of the Northwest Territories. The bulk of the programming for this client on an Hewlett Packard mainframe (i.e. HP3000) using Cognos' Powerhouse and COBOL. However, several members of our staff work on PC-based projects using MS Access, MS Visual Basic, MS SQL Server, and other products.
